Industrial Side Entry Agitators are professional stirring devices tailor-made for large-capacity and large-diameter industrial storage tanks. Unlike top-entry agitators, they adopt a low side-wall installation design that saves top-tank space and provides extensive flow field coverage, delivering targeted performance for specific tank types and process media. They serve as core equipment for homogenization, anti-sedimentation and stabilization of bulk industrial materials. These agitators are ideal for large vertical and horizontal atmospheric storage tanks, especially units with a diameter above 8 meters and a volume exceeding 500 cubic meters - scenarios where traditional top-entry agitators cannot achieve efficient mixing. Typical applicable tanks include crude oil tanks, heavy oil tanks and finished oil blending tanks in the petroleum industry; waste liquid tanks, solvent tanks and reaction buffer tanks in the chemical industry; industrial sewage regulating tanks and sludge storage tanks in environmental protection projects; as well as oil storage tanks and syrup storage tanks in the grain and food processing industries.
Furthermore, Industrial Side Entry Agitators feature excellent structural compatibility with various tank types. They can be directly mounted on the side walls of both newly built standard tanks and old retrofitted tanks that lack top mounting openings or have limited top load-bearing capacity, requiring no major tank modification and offering far higher adaptability than conventional stirring equipment. Designed for medium and low-viscosity fluid mixing, the equipment covers most common industrial process media, which can be categorized into four major groups. First, petroleum media including crude oil, heavy oil, diesel, lubricating oil and coal tar, which require homogenization and anti-stratification treatment. Second, chemical media such as water-based solutions, diluted solvents, salt solutions, and weak acid and alkali solutions for conventional mixing, reaction and stabilization processes. Third, sewage treatment media including industrial wastewater, biochemical mixed liquor and low-concentration sludge slurry to prevent suspended sedimentation and ensure uniform water quality. Fourth, grain and light industrial media such as vegetable oil, syrup and starch suspensions.
Customized material and structural configurations are available to accommodate special working conditions. For corrosive media, 304 or 316L stainless steel shafts and blades, or rubber-lined and PTFE-lined carbon steel structures can be adopted to resist acid and alkali corrosion. For abrasive media containing solid particles, wear-resistant coatings and thickened blades can be equipped to enhance durability. For high-concentration, sediment-prone media, blade inclination angles and installation heights can be optimized to strengthen disturbance at the tank bottom. It should be noted that this equipment is not suitable for ultra-high-viscosity paste materials, high-pressure flammable and explosive sealed environments, or ultra-fine dry powder with high solid content, which require specialized stirring equipment. With its unique installation structure and flow field design, Industrial Side Entry Agitators effectively resolve common industrial problems such as material stratification, sedimentation and uneven mixing in large tanks, making them the preferred solution for bulk fluid storage, blending and stabilization in large-scale industrial tank systems.
